How my story relates to my services

I enjoy helping people find accessible and flexible tools for self regulation in everyday situations.

Increasing the time I spend in a regulated state has been a priority for me since I started my recovery journey over 20 years ago.

I have found it essential to develop an understanding of my nervous system and how it functions. This understanding has been critical in tolerating the sensory experience of being human.

My journey and passion for understanding nervous system regulation techniques has expanded as I parent an AuDHD child.

I believe when you feel seen, heard, and celebrated for who you are, in that moment, you experience a confidence of self and a worthiness of life.

The founder of psychodrama J.L. Moreno believed that many of our psychological wounds stem from interactions that we have had in relationship to others. Conversely, he believes that one’s path to wellness also occurs in relationship to others. This relational focus is the perspective from which I approach my work with clients.

I a mother within a queer family system and the daughter of a gay genderqueer father. It is paramount to me that queer families have a place in mainstream society, receive greater equity, and are celebrated.

I aim to promote a culture of celebration and affirmation for every individual.

My hope is for this attitude to be infused into the various systems that shape our society on a daily basis.

May we all experience a sense of worthiness, celebration, and affirmation within our societies, workplaces, healthcare systems, educational institutions, and families.

I started my educational pursuits focused on macro level healing with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Urban Studies from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.

During my studies I was struck by a quote from Mother Theresa in which she said, “What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family”.

I realized that I have an opportunity to greatly impact community wellness by focusing providing care to individuals. As a result, I went on to pursue a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM.

I have since held a mental health license in the state of New Mexico since 2011.
